OPERATIONAL TECHNOLOGY

Our team uses technology such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) to assist in the preconstruction and construction phases of projects. These shared digital workspaces enable team coordination and collaboration while providing a more understandable view of the scope to ensure systems and components will function as intended.

BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (BIM)

BIM transforms 2D drawings into an information-rich 3D model that allows collaboration among contractors, designers and consultants. If one party amends an object, dependent ones change automatically. BIM models and detection have the greatest impact when the design is corrected before being issued to bidders, as identifying clashes in the field wastes time and cost by halting progress and redesigning scopes of work. Historically, early clash detection is estimated to save a project 7% on the overall project duration, 10% on the total contract value and 40% on unbudgeted project changes.

VIRTUAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION (vdc)

VDC allows a project to be fully built digitally before it is physically built onsite. This virtual simulation process utilizes the information garnered using BIM to identify potential challenges in the workflow, enhancing the project’s efficiency, coordination and collaboration.
